I hope you didn’t miss my message too much last week, but I took a few days off after the busyness of Easter celebrations. It was nice to spend a few days on the Dorset coast and take time to relax, take refreshment and prepare for the coming weeks of Spring and Summer. Although the weather wasn’t at its best, walking and taking some fresh air was much appreciated; and I have a sun-kissed head to prove we had some sunshine too!
It is not always easy to fit into my schedule some breaks, but it is all the more welcome when I can. We can all do with taking a break sometimes from busy schedules; to take some time to re-charge and prepare ourselves for the coming days. I was reading from the Bible recently the account of the giving of the Ten Commandments to Moses up on the mountain; and one of the commandments says “Six days you shall labour, and do all your work. But the seventh is a sabbath to the Lord your God; you shall not do any work.” I know how difficult it is to carry out that command, but it is for our own benefit.
I hope that we can all find a bit of space in the busyness of life to take time out; for ourselves and our health, for our families and the benefit of sharing some time with them, and for the good of everyone around us. Enjoy a time of relaxation and take in the sights and sounds of creation.
I wish you God’s love and peace for this Easter Season
