We have been blessed with some lovely sunshine over the last couple of days or so, and someone remarked to me that it lifts the spirits when we can feel the warmth of the sunshine on our faces. How true that is for all of us as we are tempted to go outside and find a place where we can feel the full strength of the sun. I guess for some that place will be in the garden or for others it will be a walk in the park or countryside. Our weather seems to be very changeable – cold or heat, wet or dry, and other variants in between. As I write I can feel the warmth of the sun on the back of my neck through my study window and that helps me sit and think, as well as write; it is much easier to be motivated when the weather is being kind to us.
We edge our way towards the summer months hoping that we will have a sunny few weeks that will help us to spend some time in the great outdoors and enjoy the beauty of creation. Hope is very much the theme of the coming days as we also edge towards the season of Easter and the hope that comes from the resurrection of Jesus. As we see the events of the Middle East unfold before us, we all need some hope to cling to as we fear for the world and the consequences of the conflict to which we can see no end. My hope is that a resolution can be found, so that the bombing and killing ceases. I always pray in hope for all the conflicts and oppression that are evident across the world and that peace may come to all places and people.
I wish you God’s love and peace.
