Have you been to the “sales” and bought anything? It always seems to me that there are some bargains to be had, but there is also some “rubbish” they put on the shelves at this time of the year. I sometimes think they put out the items they have been unable to sell during the rest of the year and can therefore sell them off to free up space in the warehouses. Some of the offers are very tempting and we might be encouraged to buy things that we wouldn’t necessarily buy. They put some things on sale simply to avoid sending them back to the warehouse so they do not have to be handled again. Whatever the reason for the items being on sale, they will very soon disappear from the shelves.
If you have purchased something in the sales I wonder if you think that you have got a good deal or not? There are definitely some good and bad deals to be had so it’s essential to be very wary of what you buy and what you leave alone.
As we journey through life there will be times when we have decisions to make that will affect our life and the way that we live. One of those decisions will be whether or not we want to have faith in anything. I can assure you that if we put our trust in God he will never – in the words of the Psalms – “leave us or forsake us”. There will be times when we feel God is not with us, but they are the times when we move away from him. God is consistent, constant and faithful in his love and protection towards us. There are no bad deals with God – only good ones! I hope that you can discover for yourselves the constant love of God.
I wish you God’s peace this New Year.
