There is nothing better than seeing a bird in flight – and I was fortunate recently not only to photograph this swan in flight, but below it was a lapwing in the same shot. I always admire photographs where movement is evident and has been captured in that single pose. My photographs are more by luck than judgement, I think, so I am always pleased to get such a shot. Not only does the photograph capture movement, but gives an idea of the wing structure.
We do live in such a wonderful creation, and we must make every endeavour to preserve it. Whether you believe the creation story in the book of Genesis in the Bible or not, we are very fortunate to live in such beautiful countryside, with its rich wildlife in earth, water or air.
There are many species of birds mentioned in the Bible, but I like the reference in Isaiah chapter 40, verse 31, where we hear “but those who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.” What a wonderful promise that God makes to those who believe in him. I suppose a lot of people can imagine soaring way up high as if flying on the wings on an eagle, so just imagine feeling like that within your own soul. God never breaks his promises, and that promise applies to us today as much as it did to those who first heard the words of Isaiah. I hope you can find the courage to place your trust in God. Why not try it?
May I wish you God’s blessings.
