This week’s day off was spent walking in the parkland of Woburn and enjoying the beauty of the trees, the rhododendrons, the birdlife and of course the deer. It was wonderful to see them roaming freely amongst the trees and grassland, and in the picture below, this beautiful stag relaxing in the sunshine. We are truly blessed with God’s creation, and there are a number of places around the area that are amazing places to walk and take some exercise.
We are fortunate in this country that we can visit most places without interference and can roam freely to enjoy what we have. There are many countries around the world where people cannot walk and exercise without being challenged or restricted in their movements. We have so many freedoms in our country, and we don’t always appreciate them, and sometimes take them for granted.
We should always remember those places in our prayers, the countries that have so many restrictions and suffer in this way. There are some people whose movement is controlled; not only by rules and regulations, but by war and conflict – we must pray too for those places: that peace may return to their country and that they can once again enjoy the freedom of free movement. I hope and pray that one day everyone throughout the whole world will be able to move freely, travelling from place to place without challenge and that God’s creation can be enjoyed by all, no matter what their race or colour. Enjoy the good weather – explore our countryside and giving thanks to God for all that he has given us.
May I wish you God’s blessings of Easter.
