I never cease to marvel at creation, and it’s not only this earth, it is the whole of the universe. I cannot begin to comprehend the vastness and complexity of all that goes on around us. As you can see from the picture below, I have a fascination with it, even though I don’t understand it. We could explore year after year and still not discover everything that is up there. The James Webb Space Telescope has taken some stunning images which have recently been released – and it is amazing the detail that has been recorded.

When you read the story of creation in Genesis, the heavens only get a brief mention and rightly so I suppose, but as we know they all play their part in the coming and going of the seasons. What a wonderful creation we are part of, and we seem so small in comparison to the mighty planets and stars which are so far away. Yet in all of that, we are loved by God even though we are so tiny. It speaks volumes of how we are cared for, and that God should send his only son to die for us.
As we gradually move forward to the celebration of Christmas, we would do well to remember that Jesus came to show us how to live: by setting himself as an example to follow. All the elements of the Christmas story, and particularly all the events leading up to Christmas are a reminder that everything works together for the good of humankind, and it is only when we disrupt God’s plans or follow our own ways that things begin to go wrong. I hope that in the coming season we will begin to see the peace of God reign in the hearts of all humankind.
With Love, prayers and God’s blessing.
